Primera La Liga – Valencia vs Cordoba Betting Preview

Valencia ended last season in a disappointing 8th place and as a result didn’t even qualify for the Europa League qualifiers, which is shocking on their part considering a few years ago they were a good solid Champions League team. Looking at last years table it wasn’t even close between them and Real Sociedad who got 7th as there was a massive 10 points between the two of them.

The start to this season could have gone a little better but they did manage a 1-1 draw with Sevilla who finished last season in fifth place. They now have played four games and find themselves sat in 2nd place on 10 points and only 2 points of leaders Barcelona.

Cordoba are the new boys in town and the manager’s aim will be just to stay in the division and try and build from there. This season they have started bad but not that bad, as they have lost twice and drew twice in their opening four games played. I wouldn’t fancy them to get anything from this game though as Valencia look to be in top form.

Valencia vs Cordoba Head to Head Statistics:

Unfortunately there are no previous head to head meeting between the two clubs over the years so there is no historical data to be provided.

Valencia Recent Form

14/09/14 PRD Valencia – Espanyol 3 : 1
29/08/14 PRD Valencia – Malaga 3 : 0
23/08/14 PRD Sevilla – Valencia 1 : 1
17/08/14 FRI Valencia – Milan 2 : 1
12/08/14 FRI Manchester United – Valencia 2 : 1

Valencia have had a mixed bag of results from their previous five games played, they have managed to win three times, lost once and the remaining one game ended in a draw.

Cordoba Recent Form

21/09/14 PRD Cordoba – Sevilla 1 : 3
12/09/14 PRD Almeria – Cordoba  1 : 1
30/08/14 PRD Cordoba  – Celta De Vigo 1 : 1
25/08/14 PRD Real Madrid – Cordoba 2 : 0
17/08/14 FRI Almeria – Cordoba 1 : 1

Cordoba lost their opening game of the season away to Real Madrid 2-0, which is no real surprise. They then had two consecutive 1-1 draws against Celta Vigo and Almeria respectively. Their last game seen them go down as 3-1 losers at gome to high flying sevilla.

Valencia Team News:

Valencia have brought in a massive amount of players after last season’s disappointing campaign with the likes of Rodrigo and Gomes being the most notable ones. They have also loaned out 4 players which is quite a lot considering how bad they done last season I thought they might want to keep a pretty big squad with a large number of players to choose from as they search for European football once again. New signing Negredo is still injured and Rodrigo De Paul sits this out as he completes his 4 match suspension.

Cordoba Team News:

Albert Ferrer has 26 players registered and not one single player will have to miss this game through injury or suspension.

Valencia vs Cordoba Average Goals Per Game Statistics

Unfortunately there is no previous games played between the two clubs so we can’t provide an average goals per game statistic.

Valencia vs Cordoba Current Betting Odds Market

Valencia have been installed as the big odds on favourites to wis n this game at pretty short odds Which for me is no real surprise at all given their current form and the level of opposition. The best price currently stands at 4/11 with SkyBet – £30 Free Bets for New Customers.

The Draw is an unlikely outcome according the online bookmakers prices with the current best odds for this game to finish all square coming in at 4/1 with BetFred – £25 Free Bets for New Customers.

Cordoba didn’t do too badly during their pre-season games, however they still have not won a game yet in the League, so they will be desperately trying to end that here. The best price is coming in at 21/2 with BetVictor – £25 Free Bets for New Customers.

Valencia vs Cordoba Free Sports Bets, Tips & Predictions

There are no previous games played between the two clubs so it’s hard to get a true indication of how it will end and how many goals will be scored, having said that Valencia have much the better team and quality, they also have the experience of playing at the top level.

Having said all of that Cordoba don’t really have anything to lose as they know that this is a very hard game to even get a point from let alone 3.

My banker for this game is going to be Valencia race to 3 goals as I feel there is a massive difference in quality between the two sides and Valencia have home advantage.
